We’ve been lucky enough to have some glorious winter sun over the last few days but unfortunately, the cold temperatures still came creeping in for our MK5K runners last night.

Just shy of 50 runners ran our fast and flat course in a bitter 3 degrees last night but that didn’t stop some runners from coming across the line at lightning speed.

We had 4 finishers in under 20 minutes with Will Shippin (Redway Runners) grabbing the top spot in 17:13, Daniel Clarke (Daventry Road Runners) taking second place in 17:45 and Chris Wood (Silson AC) coming in at third with a time of 17:51.

For the ladies, we had Laura Day (Redway Runners) as first lady with a time of 25:30, Jenny Dowling (Redway Runners) in second with a time of 26:28 and Alice Graves-Morris in third crossing the line at 27:17.

It was great to see so many athletes representing different running clubs including Redway Runners, Leighton Fun Runners, Daventry Road Runners, Silson AC, Greenlight PT and Lonely Goat Runners to name a few. Unfortunately at the moment, this is due to be the only 5K in the series, but we hope to see more of you all at the MK10K race taking place next month on the 7th March.

If anything changes with the 5K series you’ll be the first to know, so keep an eye out on our socials.
