Tuesday 7th March gave us a glorious sunny afternoon, which as Sod’s law would dictate, soon turned to a cold chill by the time our MK10K runners were at the start line.

70 runners in total joined us for the second race in the series with some great times amongst them. It was great to see so many runners from the first race at the second race in this series, and we hope to see them at the third too!

Lots of clubs were being represented last night such as Redway Runners, Buckingham & Stowe RC, Daventry RR, Fordy Runs RC, Leighton Buzzard TC, Leighton FR, Lonely Goat RC, MMKAC, MK Lakeside Runners, Northampton RR, Olney Runners AC and Thame Runners to name a few (or more than a few!)
The first 3 males across the line did so rapidly, with all three coming in under Sub40 minutes.

In 1st place was David Haylett with an incredible time of 35:20, 2nd place was Redway Runners’ Will Shippin in 37:15, and closely behind we had Daniel Clarke representing Daventry RR in an impressive 37:29.

Showing consistency is key, Victoria Kirschner-Heavens was 1st lady again, following her podium place in the first MK10K race, with a brilliant time of 44:52. Rachel Lewis representing Northampton RR, followed with an equally superb time of 48:29 and our third lady was Lauren Owens with an awesome sub50 time of 49:57.

Series prizes will be awarded to the top 3 males and females at our last event in November, where their quickest 3 races will determine who takes the top spot.

Catch us at the next MK10K on the 2nd May where we hope the weather will be much more favourable!
