The Cattle Creep A Little Further (CCALF) took place on Sunday 19th February 2023 and oh wow, what a glorious day it was.
The sun was shining on a fairly warm day (10 degrees), giving pretty much perfect race conditions for the morning.
244 Runners (and some really cute pooches) took to the start line to begin their 10 mile, 1-lap route, greeted by our awesome BCS marshals on the way round.
Kevin Farmer, our lead cyclist and Race Director was peddling to the max as Will Shippin (Redway Runners) was chasing him down. Will took the top spot in the event with an astonishing Sub 1hr finish time of 00:59:50!
Never far behind, we had Ricky Robinson (Rumble Racing) in a lighting quick 01:01:43 with Darren Martin (also Rumble Racing) following closely behind in 3rd place was an awesome time of 01:02:17.
Ruth Hawkins (Buckingham and Stowe RC) wasn’t just our 1st female over the line she was also 8th overall with a seriously impressive 01:07:24. Michelle Pank grabbed 2nd place with her amazing time of 01:11:45 and in 3rd was Rachel Edwards with a smashing 01:18:20.
There were a few PBs among finishers including Gail Lock and Gemma Mcrae (congratulations!).
The CCALF attracted runners of all types of ability, with club runners and non-club runners alike. Redway Runners made up the largest club in the event with over 50 runners, but we also had runners from Buckingham and Stowe RC, Lonely Goat RC, MK Lakeside Runners, On the Run Aylesbury, Dunstable RRC, Greenlight PT and our event partners, the Running Hub.
The Running Hub will be working with us on the Cattle Creep Series this year and have provided a training plan to get you ready for the next race in the series, the Cattle Creep 10K. They’ll also be doing some course run-throughs, so keep an eye out on social media for updates!
The medal was extremely well received by runners and if you’re hoping to build that medal montage then the Cattle Creep 10K and Cattle Creepy 10K are open for entries.
If you missed out on the physical event but are still eager for the medal then we do have a Virtual option available with a deadline of 31st March.
A link to the results, race photos and to take part in the virtual event can all be viewed by visiting our website HERE.
Finally, a massive thank you to you and all our partners including the Wolverton Stonehouse, JB Event Facilities, Acute Ambulance Medical Services, Results Base, The Running Hub and of course our fantastic marshals whom we could not run these events without.
See you at the next one!
