August 2020 sees the return of the Cowman, Calfman and Stampede triathlon events at the stunning venue of Emberton Sailing Club in Emberton Country Park.
The Cowman is a middle distance triathlon (1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21.1km run), and the Calfman is just over a standard distance (900m swim, 46km bike, 10km run). The Stampede (introduced in 2018) is a sprint distance (750m swim, 22k bike, 5.25k run).
The swim takes place in the lake adjacent to the sailing club, with the bike course heading out around the local area (2 laps for Cowman, 1 lap for Calfman, short lap for the Stampede), and the run course circulating the lake featuring both on and off road sections (4 laps for Cowman, 2 laps for Calfman, 1 lap for the Stampede).
The events can be tackled as an individual, or the longer ones can be done as a relay team of two or three, with prizes across the board for individual age groups and teams.
Please note that the athlete information pack will be emailed out 2 weeks prior to the event.

About Willen Hospice
“We are proud to be one of the best-loved charities in Milton Keynes, because of the difference we make for people with life-limiting illnesses and at the end of their lives. While we can’t change the diagnosis, we can improve the quality of life of our patients as they face and come to terms with their illness. We help our patients to live as well as they possibly can, we listen to their needs and we also support their families. Dedicated teams provide a range of support including treatment at the Hospice or in patient’s homes; bereavement support for family members; and therapeutic services. We also work closely with GPs, hospitals, community nursing staff and social workers to make sure that our specialist care is practical, informed and supportive at all levels.
Our vision is to always be there to care. To provide that care free of charge, we rely on the generosity of the local community in helping raise £4.7 million every year – that’s £9 every minute of the day.”
